Amanda Blake

Amanda Blake was an American actress who appeared in many movies and TV series. She was best recognized for her role as the character of Miss Kitty Russell in the TV show 'Gunsmoke'. She was also known for the roles she played in shows on television like 'The Red Skelton Show,' 'Tattletales,' and The Edge of Night. Also, she appeared in hundreds of films including 'Stars In My Crown' 'Duchess of Idaho", 'Cattle town', 'Miss Robin Crusoe'in "About Mrs. Leslie and 'The Adventures Of Hajji Baba', 'High Society' and 'The Boom'. An ex-telephone operator, Blake was an avid animal enthusiast. Together with husband Frank Gilbert, was one among the first individuals to successfully breed cheetahs in captivity. American actor, Sheila E. Gilbert, was also a co-founder of Arizona Animal Welfare League. Blake was also a director of the Humane Society of the United States. Talking about the honours Blake has received, she was once inducted into the Hall of Great Western Performers at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.
