Taylor Swift, the rarest pop phenomenon is a star who has managed to cross from the country genre to mainstream culture, and has become an iconic figure in the pop culture. She also conquered every continent through her music. Swift removed herself from country music like a second-skin and proved that she had the best pop sensibility in her time. Swift was the only singer/songwriter who knew how to be a part of the trending zeitgeist and take it when she went on tour. It was apparent from her first songs, especially in her neo homage of Tim McGraw. On her 2nd album, Fearless (2008), Swift revealed a singer/songwriter who was beginning to know herself. The album was a huge success, not just in the United States, having six platinum-certified songs. In fact, the Top Ten songs Love Story and the hit song You Belong with Me were the primary reasons behind this. It also performed well all over the world. Speak Now delivered almost two years later and consolidated this success and moved Swift towards the top of superstardom. Swift's popularity continued to grow through her subsequent three albums - Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017) and Reputation in 2017 which saw her move into a pop realm where she already belonged. Even when she scaled back her approach with 2020's stripped-down sister album folklore, and Evermore she remained atop the world of pop, a position that she maintained through re-recordings from her back catalog along with Midnights her chart-topping synth-heavy 2022 set.
